Annie

Good Question, Annie.

SR-22 is a form which some states require as proof of financial responsibility under the state law for persons convicted of a certain traffic violations and whose license were revoked. This form is filed by the insurance company to inform the state that an individual has the policy and the car liability insurance in effect.

Your daughter will need to find out the requirements are in your particular state because the state laws differ in terms of sr-22 filing. Your Department of Motor Vehicles office may be able to give you more information. An SR22 is a form that shows you have the necessary coverage that is required by your state.

Some people may think that the SR22 policy is more expensive, but actually it is typically more because of the fact that the amount of insurance they need is more than what they are used to carry.

Goodluck!
