When your driving privilege is revoked or suspended after serving your period of restraint you may reinstate your license and in most cases you must take test again (both written and drive) so a new license may be issued, according to the Colorado Department of Revenue.

In Colorado in order to get your license back after suspensions or revocations, you will need an sr-22. You will need to check with Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles to get information what you must do to reinstate your driver’s license that was suspended 2 years ago and you may also ask them if it includes maintaining a SR-22.

You may go to an insurance agent to assist you on filing an sr-22 if its is needed or required. Once the liability insurance and the SR22 have been purchased, the form will be filed to the Motor Vehicle Division. Not all insurance companies has the form though.

The sr-22 form itself is not an insurance policy. This only guarantees by the insurance company that you have an insurance in effect that you will need to keep for a certain period. If you do not keep or cancel the SR22 before the required period, the insurance company will inform the Motor Vehicle Division. The Motor Vehicle Division will suspend your license once they get the notification from your insurance company that it has been cancelled before the required period.

You may contact the Colorado Motor Vehicle to get information if you need an sr-22 and if its is still required, you will need to get an sr-22 before they can reinstate your license.

That is the requirement placed on you for having a license, and if you are not insured with a proper SR22 insurance for non owner drivers policy, thren you risk fines and loss of your license again. In order to be safe, you need to be insured.

In most states it wouldn’t matter if your car works or not, even if you didn’t have to file an SR22 insurance for non owner drivers form, called the operator SR22 form. You have to have your car insured even if you don’t own it, so long as you use it. The difference between then and now is that in many states the law can’t tell that you don’t have a car insurance policy until they catch you driving without proof of it, whereas if you are required to have an SR22 insurance for non owner driver policy, then there is a constant communication to the department of motor vehicles over your status as insured or uninsured.

The only way to get out of this would be either to get a waiver for your car or simply sell it. However, even if you don’t have to insure your own car specifically, so long as you are under SR22 law, you will have to get a policy for SR22 insurance for non owner drivers. This type of policy is often a little more expensive than a regular SR22 policy, and it also only offers you basic minimum coverage without the option of adding things such as comprehensive or collision.
