Yes its is required in Georgia.

The sr-22 or the Financial Responsibility Insurance Certificate, according to Georgia Department of Drivers Services, is a proof of insurance and needed for reinstatement after revocation, suspension or termination of the driver’s license.

According to the Georgia law, that discusses about the sr-22, this should be filed by any authorized insurance agency to certify that an individual that has been convicted of a traffic offense or any moving violations, has the valid liability insurance policy covering the required span of time. . This certificate will include the full name of the driver, his/her license number and the date of birth.

Under Georgia code 40-9-81, whenever a person is convicted of any traffic offense, the individual’s drivers license may be suspended and therefore must show proof of financial responsibility for the future to restore or reinstate the license of that individual.

There are various reasons why sr-22 form is required in Georgia. Some of these reasons are DUI, DWI, driving without insurance, etc. You may check with the Georgia Department of Driver’s services to find out all the reasons that may require this financial responsibility certificate.

Goodluck!
