In most states you will need to show proof of insurance if you are going to register a vehicle so it is better to get an insurance beforehand. If you do not own a vehicle at the time of buying insurance you will need to get a non-owners SR-22 which you may be able to change into regular SR22 policy once you get or own a vehicle.

You may contact the insurance company of your sister if you want to be added to her policy and check if it is possible. You may also consider checking other insurance company and compare if it would be better to have you added or get your own policy from a different company. Once you get quotes from different insurance companies. you will be able to know which is cheaper.

You will need to keep your insurance policy that you will going to purchase in order to reinstate your license. Remember also that you can get different quotes online to give you more options and best insurance company that may be able to assist you in all your car insurance needs.

When your driving privilege is revoked or suspended after serving your period of restraint you may reinstate your license and in most cases you must take test again (both written and drive) so a new license may be issued, according to the Colorado Department of Revenue.

In Colorado in order to get your license back after suspensions or revocations, you will need an sr-22. You will need to check with Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles to get information what you must do to reinstate your driver’s license that was suspended 2 years ago and you may also ask them if it includes maintaining a SR-22.

You may go to an insurance agent to assist you on filing an sr-22 if its is needed or required. Once the liability insurance and the SR22 have been purchased, the form will be filed to the Motor Vehicle Division. Not all insurance companies has the form though.

The sr-22 form itself is not an insurance policy. This only guarantees by the insurance company that you have an insurance in effect that you will need to keep for a certain period. If you do not keep or cancel the SR22 before the required period, the insurance company will inform the Motor Vehicle Division. The Motor Vehicle Division will suspend your license once they get the notification from your insurance company that it has been cancelled before the required period.

You may contact the Colorado Motor Vehicle to get information if you need an sr-22 and if its is still required, you will need to get an sr-22 before they can reinstate your license.
